The XVIII International Media-Forum of Young Journalists «Dialogue of Cultures» opened in St. Petersburg

On May 22 the grand opening of the XVIII International Media-Forum of young journalists «Dialogue of Cultures» took place at the Hermitage Theatre in St. Petersburg. More than 300 journalists from 29 countries take part in the event, including employees of the Minsk News agency.
Every year media representatives, motion designers, photographers and creators of video stories from 18 to 35 years old gather here to share their ideas, experience and showcase their work.

Mikhail Piotrovsky, General Director of the State Hermitage Museum, Vladimir Soloviev, Chairman of the Russian Union of Journalists, Vladimir Kochin, Executive Director of the Russkiy Mir Foundation and others delivered with welcoming speeches.
Vladimir Kochin noted the importance of the «Dialogue of Cultures». He noted that all cultures are interesting and important and that the forum itself provides an opportunity to communicate and share valuable experience. The program includes practical conferences, master classes, the festival of short documentaries, animated films, television programs and blogs «Eurasia. New generation of Dialogue».

On May 23 the Hermitage Theatre will host the opening of an International multimedia exhibition of photographic projects and installations by 50 young visual content authors, winners and laureates of International and National competitions from 18 countries. The exhibition features the project «Flowering» by Alexey Stolyarov, a photojournalist at the Minsk News agency, dedicated to folk festivals and rituals – «Gukanne Viasna», «Kolyada» and «Zadora». Works of A. Stolyarov is presented by correspondent Olga Ropot.
The Dialogue of Cultures will end with the creation of reports which will subsequently be broadcast on TV channels and portals of the participating countries of the Media-Forum. The participants divided into groups will visit Veliky Novgorod, Tver, Tula, as well as the Pyotr Tchaikovsky House Museum in Klin, the estate of Leo Tolstoy in Yasnaya Polyana, and the Alexander Pushkin Museum apartment on the Moika River embankment in St. Petersburg. The agency's correspondents will visit the Tchaikovsky State Memorial Music Museum where the composer's manuscripts, correspondence, diaries, personal library and personal belongings are kept.
